Our Yoga Alliance certified 200 training hours (of which more than 160 are “contact”, i.e. face to face hours) are divided across the following areas:
Techniques, Training & Practice (75 hours – 37.5%)
This core section of the training is where your physical, energetic, and meditative practices are refined and expanded.
- Asana (45 hours): You’ll develop a strong, safe, and intelligent approach to physical postures, learning alignment, modifications, and sequencing that support both personal practice and teaching.
- Pranayama & Subtle Body (15 hours): Explore the breath as a bridge between body and mind. You’ll study energetic anatomy, including chakras and nadis, and learn how breathwork can regulate the nervous system and enhance vitality.
- Meditation (15 hours): Cultivate stillness and presence through guided meditation practices. You’ll learn techniques to support emotional resilience, mental clarity, and spiritual connection—and how to share these practices with others.
Anatomy, Physiology & Biomechanics (30 hours – 15%)
Understanding the body is essential for safe and effective teaching. This section provides a comprehensive foundation in how the body moves and functions.
- Anatomy (12 hours): Learn the structure of the human body, focusing on muscles, bones, joints, and connective tissue relevant to yoga practice.
- Physiology (12 hours): Discover how bodily systems—such as respiratory, circulatory, and nervous systems—interact with yoga practices to support health and healing.
- Biomechanics (6 hours): Gain insight into movement patterns, load distribution, and injury prevention to teach with confidence and care.
Yoga Humanities (30 hours – 15%)
This section connects you to the rich philosophical and ethical roots of yoga, grounding your practice in tradition and meaning.
- History (10 hours): Trace the evolution of yoga from its ancient origins to its modern expressions, understanding key texts, teachers, and cultural shifts.
- Philosophy (10 hours): Dive into foundational teachings such as the Yoga Sutras, exploring concepts like the eight limbs, self-inquiry, and liberation.
- Ethics (10 hours): Reflect on the ethical responsibilities of being a yoga teacher, including inclusivity, integrity, and the role of yoga in contemporary society.
Professional Essentials (50 hours – 25%)
This is where your teaching skills are honed and your professional identity begins to take shape.
- Teaching Methodology (15 hours): Learn how to design and deliver impactful classes, including cueing, sequencing, theming, and adapting for different bodies and needs.
- Professional Development (15 hours): Explore the business of yoga—branding, marketing, ethics, and how to build a sustainable career aligned with your values.
- Practicum (20 hours): Practice teaching in a supportive environment, receive feedback, and refine your voice. These hours are essential for building confidence and competence.
Elective Hours (15 hours – 7.5%)
These hours offer flexibility to explore areas that resonate most with you. They may include workshops, guest lectures, or specialised modules such as trauma-informed yoga, Ayurveda, pregnancy, Yoga Nidra, heated yoga, Chanting, Chakras and many more! This space allows you to personalise your training and deepen your unique path.
